The traditional branding methods of the past several decades with a boring company logo design and introverted marketing program simply aren't effective any longer. The static, outmoded and impersonal company logo design options and boring old marketing campaigns that we have been familiar with our entire lives are giving way to flexible, dynamic, consumer-centric campaigns in which personalization is king.

The company logo design delivers a message to consumers that says, "Look, you know us, you trust us, and we have a strong relationship.  Come be with us!"  As the market gets bigger, consumers are demanding a more personal touch.  They want to see a company logo design, recognize the brand and feel good about dealing with that company on that basis.  They have a choice and they want to make sure they feel good about their choice.

Take a look at competitor's web sites.  Make a note of web sites that you particularly like and dislike and bookmark them.  Show these pages to us during the design process.

From a designer's point of view, knowing what a client likes can save us a lot of time and you a lot of money.
Target Your Audience
target

Knowing your target audience is key to the success of your web site.  Are you developing a site for:

  • ...Customers?
  • ...Adults?
  • ...Students?

You should determine not only the target group, but also the age and gender.

The colours, layout, content and number of pages for your site may vary, depending upon the target audience. Without this information it is difficult to know what type of site to create.
Choose a Theme
theme

The theme is the unifying idea on which everything else rests.

Colours do affect site visitors.

  • What colours represent your organization?
  • Do you wish a whole new look?

A bargain site may have bright colours and simple graphics with a lighthearted look; whereas deeper colours with photographs of well-dressed people would be more appropriate for the high priced site.
Make a Checklist
checklist
Collect the information you want to include on your web site.
  • History
  • Contact information
  • Product or Services brochures
  • Frequently Asked Questions
  • Links to other sites
  • Info about services and experience

Include graphics*:
  • Company logos
  • Product photographs
  • Filler Images

*We can provide these for you
Organize Your Info
organize

Divide the information into:
  • Sections
  • Categories
  • Articles

Each Section or Category can contain several web pages. A webpage should contain enough information to fill a single screen but shouldn't be longer than five screens.
Include a brief summary of your web site on the home page and make sure the contact information is immediately and easily identifiable and accessible.
Plan Each Page
plan-ahead

The purpose of your site trickles down through each step that you take in creating it. You want the title of each page to specify how it supports the site's purpose. The textual content of each page needs to lead naturally into some specific aspect of the topic that furthers your goal.
Prepare Your Text
text

Enter the text you want to appear on your web site in either Notepad or Wordpad.

Each web page should be a separate document.

Always put the most important information at the top of each web page.

Use headings to emphasize your titles and subtitles.

Carefully check your web pages for spelling and grammar errors

Spelling and Punctuation are Your Responsibility

Check thoroughly BEFORE giving the info to your designer.

We're not going to give you the same old blah, blah, blah you see on other Graphic or Web Design sites available on the net (and there's a bunch of them).

I mean ...honestly:
  • $24.95 for a fantastic site that will meet all of your needs and be easy to maintain...   It may as well come with a free car and a puppy!
If you really believe that it's possible to invest $20-50 in your website and expect it to represent your business effecively then you're in the wrong place -- the unemployment line is around the corner!

That being said (...and I feel better already)...

Charisma Studios develops Websites and Graphic Designs that are both useful and profitable for our clients.  Although you're not going to see anything from the bargain basement - you won't have to break the bank either.

A Good Design is one that fits into your budget

...and does what it is supposed to do.

Why spend money on something that doesn't work?  ---- even if it is only $24.95.

We like to build
long lasting relationships with our clients.  By being honest and up-front and by getting to know our customers, as well as their project goals, we're able to customize just the right look and feel for their audience at a price that is within their budget.  (Which probably explains why most of our designs are done for repeat customers ...as well as many of their friends!)

If you need help deciding what you need or if you have questions about any of our services just give us a call (...or even if you just want to chat about your future plans, give us a call.  There's no obligation for anything ...and we mean it!.).
